Koolboo Equestrian
The Story Behind Koolboo
Where elegance meets grit, designed by a real rider, for real riders.
How It Started
Every great brand begins with a spark. For Koolboo, it was a coffee and a conversation about our favourite breeches being discontinued and nothing else on the market feeling quite right.
That moment planted the seed for Koolboo Equestrian: apparel made for riders who live in their gear from the paddock to the shops and even to work without compromising style, comfort, or confidence.
Meet the Founder — Bethany McKay
I’m Bethany, a veterinary nurse, horse mum, and proud Aussie girl. I grew up on a cattle farm in northern NSW, where my first horse, a speckled Appaloosa named Lucky (my dad’s old horse), became my best mate and teacher.
Horses have carried me through every season the highs, the heartbreaks, and everything between. They taught me patience, courage, and that the best things in life are earned (muddy boots and all).
Why Koolboo Exists
Koolboo is for the women who do it all riders who wake before sunrise, work hard, love their horses like family, and still chase big dreams. Our mission is simple:
- Create luxurious, functional, confidence-boosting apparel.
- Design with intention, precision, and bold femininity.
- Help you look and feel unstoppable on course, at training, or on a coffee run.
From the sleek Amira long sleeve to the bold Valentina breeches, every detail is considered so you can focus on your ride.
From Dream to Reality
Koolboo wasn’t built overnight. It’s the result of early mornings, late nights, fabric testing, re-designs, and relentless passion. There were doubts (as every founder knows), but the vision never wavered.
Seeing riders wear Koolboo for the first time still gives me goosebumps, proof that a small idea can become something powerful.
The Koolboo Krew
Koolboo isn’t just a brand...it’s a community. The Koolboo Krew is a space for riders who value elegance, confidence, and authenticity. It’s friendship, empowerment, and celebrating every win big or small.

With love and a whole lot of horse hair,
